Advance Learn-to-Skate: Speed Skating

If you get an adrenaline rush from speed, Speed Skating is the right sport for you. This course will put you on the fast track to recreational or even competitive Short Track Speed Skating.

Advance Learn-to-Skate Speed Skating is suitable for adults and kids, aged 6-years old and above.

Group classes are split by age group, the ratio being 4 students to 1 coach. Lessons are conducted over five Fridays/Sundays. Skaters are required to complete Core Blades (Basic) Level 1 to 4 before they can sign up for speed skating.

For experienced skaters who wish to pursue competitive or recreational speed skating. Learn the basic position, continuous steps, basic glides and strokes, t-start and stop, and also learn about the equipment and the track.

For experienced skaters who wish to pursue competitive or recreational speed skating. Learn glides and glides on curve from forward skating start, crossovers, as well as how to fall safely.

For experienced skaters who wish to pursue competitive or recreational speed skating. Learn more advance moves such as tuck glide from basic position, 180-degree turn, two-foot slalom, straightaway push stroke, and forward sculling.

For experienced skaters who wish to pursue competitive or recreational speed skating. Learn the one-foot slalom, crossover weave, alternating leg glides, one-foot turn, recovery leg, strong skating stop, straight jump turn.

For experienced skaters who wish to pursue competitive or recreational speed skating. All your skills come together in this level, with speed drills and learn power moves to put you ahead on the track.

For experienced skaters who wish to pursue competitive or recreational speed skating. Get a proper understanding of the race start command and accelerating from the start, group skating around a track, passing and relay exchange.

You can sign up for the Competitive Stream of SISA Club Racing once you have completed your Advance Learn-to-Skate Speed Skating levels.

Requirement: Rental of speed skating boots is compulsory and will be charged at $5 per lesson; payable to Speed coaches
